Gross Halloween Recipe: Pork Dumplings with Chile Sesame Sauce

© John Kernick via FoodandWine.com
I may not like to eat gross recipes on Halloween, but I respect a gross-looking recipe when it shows up on my screen and probably tastes delicious.
I don't even seek them out, they come to ME!
Like lost souls looking for a house to haunt...

This particular recipe is from FoodandWine.com and is a gourmet concoction from fellow Halloween addict Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka (and Molly Hanisee).

Though this recipe calls for making the dumplings yourself from scratch, I think it can be done on the quick by buying pre-made frozen or chilled dumplings and just adding a red sauce to them (one is provided in the FnW recipe HERE) once heated up.

The key to selling it as "gross" is serving them in a beaker or other specimen-jar-type dinner-ware.  You can buy them on Amazon HERE

Lastly:  the name "Pork Dumplings with Chile Sesame Sauce" doesn't sound gross or scary enough so I'm going to propose making a label (a piece of white tape with legible Sharpie scrawl on the beaker will work) with one of the following:
  • Bats Brains.
  • Heated Monkey Brains (not to be confused with "Chilled Monkey Brains" from that film you all know...).
  • Fresh Organs.
Or the last alliterative one I can think of:
"Tasty Tumors."

That last one really got me.
Yuck to the name.
Yum to the recipe.

Check out the other most-grossest (a term I just made up) Halloween recipes I've found across the 'net like the Scary Cerebrum Shrimp and Meat Hand.
