RECIPE: Skeleton Pretzel Cupcakes

Photo: Kate Sears, WomansDay.com
I enjoy a good looking Halloween recipe from time to time, even if it's something I'd never make.

But I have to say, that when I figured out how the skeletons were built on these Skeleton Pretzel Cupcakes I literally had a moment of "ooooOOOOH!  The PRETZELS are the BONES of the SKELETONS!!!  That's freakin' brilliant!" exclamation.

So now I pass on to you, what I think is, a brilliant Halloween recipe.
It's not the cupcake, oh no.
It's the construction of the skeleton on top that makes it genius.
You can eat the bones!
YOU CAN EAT THE BONES!

I did a little digging and found that this recipe seems to have originated with WomansDay.com HERE, but was perfected by CookiesandCups.com HERE

Though the recipes seem to be the same, if you're a visual-learner you'll want to go to Cookies and Cups as they have a step-by-step pictorial

Now the only thing I would like someone to come up with to make this recipe perfect is to figure out what to use instead of non-edible lollipop sticks for the spine of the skeleton so the whole topper can be edible.

Did I mention?  The PRETZELS are the BONES of the SKELETONS!!!
Freakin' brilliant.
