If there's one character from the film who has endeared himself to fans it's Sam, the mischievous child-like demon who ties the whole movie together-- a kind of "mute Crypt Keeper" of sorts.
To make a Sam costume for yourself (or a loved one) is quite a challenge as the rubber latex masks on the market being pushed as "Sam" masks just don't have the look that the burlap and button-eyed screen-used one does.
Well over on the forums on TheBurningLeaf.com, a member known as "Mojo" or "Katie" has made a pretty incredible replica of Sam and though it doesn't have explicit instructions, anyone worth their weight in crafting can probably pull one of these off after looking at the pics.

Seems like all you need is a ball (inflated or deflated to meet the size of your body), paper mache, an X-Acto blade and/or scissors, duct tape (of COURSE!), black paint, burlap, thick thread for the seam and mouth, two black buttons, spray adhesive, hot glue gun and brown rope/twine for the neck.
If you're NOT the crafty-type, enjoy glimpses of Mojo's extensive horror collection in the background of the photos.
The mask, of course, is only half the battle. Katie seems to have hired a seamstress to make orange feety pajamas with yellow patches and the burlap and rope gloves are another quick project. Still--- if you want to be the belle of the ball... this is quite a showing.
Check out the picture intensive post HERE and voila... you can be Sam. I know it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: if you're tall... this isn't the costume for you.

I really liked that movie. I can't believe it took them so long to release. Cool idea with the Sam costume.
