Thanks to a little tip from Pumpkin Cult's Twitter Feed, I've now found Bath and Body Work's latest Halloween offerings for 2011.
And I must say, I think they're kinda fun.
Overall there seems to be a color theme of bright orange, purple and green. Much like my approval of M and M's color choices a few years back, I think if you're not going to go orange, black and white, then this classic mix injects fun and color without making the holiday too much of a pinata of crazy.
Just going by the pictures, my favorite items are as follows:
The small ceramic votives of Frankenstein, a black cat and a jack o' lantern.
A great little trio that keeps the classic (jack and cat) and injects a little monster fun (Frank) too. I'm not usually a Frankenstein guy but the design of the face puts it at a cross between Frankenstein's monster, a skull and a pumpkin carving. I think I'll pick up the trio for my office decorations.
I think the jack o' lantern soap dispenser is a simple but classy design. Maybe it just reminds me of my favorite Target pumpkin cookie jar. Who knows? But I like it.
Lastly there's some sort of fragrance thingy-jingy shaped like a glow-in-the-dark skull and crossbones (you can see it on the far right of the pic). Normally I'd pass this right by, but as it sort of looks like a giant Dr. Skull Pez Dispenser, I think I may buy one.
I almost forgot to mention the mini-hand-sanitizer bottles with colored sanitizer and Halloween labels! They're so little you could drop 'em in trick or treat bags... for... all the germ-o-phobic kids.
Again, I'm going by pictures-only here. So until I get my hands on these things and determine if they're worth purchasing or not, I can only surmise.
I'll either do another post post-purchase or just update this one.
Regardless, I approve of BBW's design and colors for their 2011 line. Check it all out HERE.
Can't wait to see what the rest of the box stores bring out... and SO EARLY.
It's July for Great Pumpkin's sake. NOT that I'm complainin'!
But if I see Captain Christmas start taking over the shelves on October 1st I'm going to be upset...

I love the Franky thing!
Yeah the Frank votive really is a great design.
I didn't even mention the other candles they have that have a black silhouette that wraps around.
I really really like this line.
ohhh so glad I saved my gift card from there!! My bathroom is halloween themed and the walls are lime green and the room is accented in purple and orange!! SCORE on these goods!
Hey Steve...
Oh happy day! Always love it when the new Halloween goods start arriving. Great post, thank you. I have a lot of female followers on my blog who I know will be as interested as I am, so I reposted this story with attribution to you and links to your blog. I checked out the website and picked my 2 favorites too. Now to get there and purchase...wonder if it's already out in the stores? Surely it is, or they wouldn't put it on the website right?!
Also, wanted to tell you that I have that same Target Jack O'Lantern Cookie Jar. He gets pulled out every year and usually holds treats for our Halloween party! :o)
LDG Nicole: Sounds like this line is MADE for you. Send pics of your bathroom with the items in it. I'd love to see it!
Wendy: Thanks so much for the shout-out. I haven't been to a store yet to see if they're on shelves.
And, yeah, that Target cookie jar is pretty spectacular, eh?
This is a great! Many thanks for spotting these. The perfect addition to giver one's place a Halloween-y feel in October.
I know what I'll be doing this weekend. :)
Love the soap dispenser and candles!
They are indeed on the shelves already! I ran in last night to check everything out and grabbed a little glittery bat holder-thingy for the mini hand sanitizers (grabbed the gumball scented one because it had glow in the dark bats. I like bats. Could you tell?). Grabbed a pic: http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6329/001sme.jpg
Great post! I am so excited you featured these. I have been stalking the BBW website for the past couple of weeks waiting for this stuff to come out.
J.D.: True, sir!
Halloween Spirit: You know what you're doing this weekend?
Is it painting yourself orange and running around yelling "I'm a pumpkin! I'm a pumpkin!" No? Just me?
Ms.: Totally!
Krystal: Cool. Good to know they're out there in the brick and mortar stores!
I didn't realize the bat came with a giant cat.
mlw33: For some reason BBW wasn't even on my Halloween merch radar. I will change that... NOW!
