Video Games for Halloween

Moooove over bacon, now there's something meatier!

Horror-themed video games are able to deliver on the scares more than Hollywood Studios.
Why?
Well, for starters, modern games are more than a 90 minute experience. Some games top out at 18+ hours of gameplay. That's a lot of blood, sweat and tears.
They also excel at immersing the player in the environment rather than just letting them be a voyeur. You're not watching someone open the door, YOU have to walk up and open the door... in the dark... with noises coming from behind it... armed only with a whisk.

GamesRadar.com has a nice little 3 pager complete with pics and videos on "The 8 Scariest Games This Fall." I can say that I, myself, am looking forward to playing "Dead Space" and "Left 4 Dead." (Do you italicize video game titles? Or put quotes around them? Hmmmm...).

And for those who are looking for classic retro gaming ideas this Halloween, VideoGameCritic.net (that's "net" folks) has a huge, all encompassing list from the Atari 2600 allllll the way up to the present. Seriously.
This list... dear god, this list.
Check it out HERE.

The first time I played Resident Evil I actually jumped once.
Surprised me.
Been fun reading your blog through out the Halloween season.
Thanks.

Yeah Resident Evil was the first time I realized a game could scare me. I think it was when the zombie dog jumps through the window and chases you.

Glad you're enjoying Halloween Addict for the season! Keep in mind I'll keep posting throughout the year, so please keep coming back.
